Dr. Tuckey grew up in Victoria. After graduating from UBC with a degree in clinical nutrition, she studied at the University of Toronto and became a Doctor of Dental Surgery. She received many awards during her dental school training, including the prestigious Dean’s Gold Medal.
After working as a dentist in Victoria, Dr. Tuckey left practice and completed three years of training at UBC to become a board-certified specialist in Periodontics and Implant Surgery. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Craniofacial Science, with her thesis based on the stability of dental implants. During her advanced training, she won the Nobel Biocare Prize for excellence in implant surgery, among other awards for exceptional work with her patients.
Dr. Tuckey is thrilled to be living in Victoria again with her husband Mike (a Chartered Accountant) and their daughter, born in 2012. Outside the office, you might find her on her road bike preparing for another visit to Hurricane Ridge. She also enjoys running and has completed marathons in Victoria, Toronto, and San Francisco.
